“How does he know exactly what I’m feeling?” That’s the most-heard reader comment about this 800,000-copy bestseller by internationally-renowned divorce therapist Bruce Fisher.
Rebuilding features Fisher’s “divorce process rebuilding blocks,” a proven nineteen-step process for putting one’s life back together after divorce. Clearly the most widely-used approach to divorce recovery, the “rebuilding” model makes the process healthier and less traumatic for those who are divorcing or divorced — and their children. Over two decades of research and practice are combined with feedback from hundreds of thousands of men and women who have used the book on their own or in one of thousands of Fisher divorce recovery seminars worldwide. Also includes Bruce’s detailed Healing Separation model — first of its kind to offer couples a healing alternative to the usual slide from separation to divorce.
Rebuilding has consistently been the #1 divorce bestseller at Amazon. com. The 3rd edition, revised with the assistance of psychologist and marriage and family therapist Dr. Robert Alberti, continues Bruce’s tradition of straight-to-the-heart response to the needs of his clients and readers. Just the right balance of shoulder-to-cry-on and kick-in-the-pants self-help!

Hallo, i have read your book of Rebuilding when your relationship ends and it has changed my view on my marriage, i am married but we are having problems with my husband, and i reached a point where i saw there was no point of leaving but since i started reading this book it has enlightened me and i feel very good about myself. i have taken the step of loving myself first as this has not been the case, i am making peace with myself and i am happy for the changes that i have made. i have been going through alot of challenges as i am a dumpee and it has been difficult for me to accept this, but since i started reading i felt at peace with myself and i am greatful.
do you have any suggestions of any other book i can read?
Thank you
Ebby

Thank you for being there, Jun 05, 2010

I have never been able to keep my copy of this book I keep giving them to friends in need only to find later on that they found it so good they had passed the copy onto someone else! The bit I like most of all are the sections that normalise all the crazy things you and your duper/dupee are doing and the clever set of questions at the end of the chapters checking whether you have really 'got it' or whether the life lesson or changes in your thinking, feeling or behaviour might take a little longer. Then there's the section for staying together and the part about working it through with kids on board. Finally though i struggle to get copies anywhere except online - that first time when I was really sucking up every word in it after my partner of over a decade decided to jump ship, every where I went to read it seemed to be filled with people older than me who were telling me just how much it had helped them!
